The first district election was on November 4, 2022. Jerry Smith and Steve Majoewsky ran unopposed in voting areas 2 and 3 respectively. Residents living in voting areas 1, 4, and 5 will vote for representation in November 2024.

April 2023 Update

The Goleta Sanitary District Board of Directors approved a final map for our transition from large elections to district elections. The Board has approved the following map of electoral districts and has established the sequence for elections. This final map meets the criteria for creating district-based elections and will be used in the November 2022 election cycle. Voters in individual districts that have seats for elections, Voting Districts 2 and 3 (as shown below), will be able to vote for representatives living in those districts. The other three districts will have representatives for the November 2024 elections.

The map is available to view and download below. For more information, please contact Laura Romano at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
